Quick Answer

Club volleyball uniforms usually come as a package: 2 or 3 numbered game jerseys (one in a contrasting libero color), spandex shorts, a warmup top, practice tees, and often a backpack. Clubs that publish their package prices put it at $245 to $600 per player. A full 12 piece package built from Hamco’s published prices is $378 to $440 per player depending on order size. The uniform is a small part of the season: published 2025/26 and 2026/27 club dues run from $1,200 for a lower level 11U to 14U team to $7,890 for a 16s travel team, before travel costs. USA Volleyball and AAU rules require numbers at least 4 inches tall on the front and 6 inches on the back, numbers 1 to 99 only. The libero jersey must be a clearly different dominant color.

If you run a club, or you are a parent looking at a tryout offer, the uniform package is the one line on the fee sheet you can control. Dues, court rent and coach pay are set. The number of jerseys, the brand, the warmups and the backpack are choices. This guide shows what real clubs put in their 2025/26 and 2026/27 packages, what those packages cost, what the rules require, and where the money goes. Every number links to the club page or rule book it came from. For the rule side in more depth, our volleyball uniform rules guide covers USAV, NFHS and NCAA line by line.

One honest note before the numbers. Club volleyball is expensive, and uniforms are not the reason. Voltage Volleyball in Florida is the one club that breaks its budget down, and its uniform package is 10 percent of dues. On the Virginia Elite page, the required travel package adds up to $5,740 on top of $7,845 in dues. A cheaper jersey will not fix a $13,000 season. What a club can do is buy the right number of pieces at a published price from a vendor with no minimum. Then a 10 player 12U team pays the same per piece as the 17U national team, when the whole club orders in one run. If your club is building its first order, our how to order team uniforms guide walks through sizing, rosters and timelines.

What is included in a club volleyball uniform package?

We read the published fee pages of seven US clubs on October 1, 2026. Here is exactly what each one puts in the package, in the club’s own words.

Club (state)SeasonUniform package contentsPackage price
Virginia Elite (VA)2025/26Nike: 3 jerseys, 1 pair of spandex, 1 warmup jacket and pant, 3 practice tees, 1 Dig Pink tee, 1 pair of socks, 1 pair of kneepads, backpackIncluded in dues
American Volleyball Club North (VA)2025/26Under Armour through 431 Sports: 3 jerseys, hoodie, sweatpant, warmup shirt, tee, backpack. Shoes, spandex and knee pads not included$350, paid separately
Rockwood Thunder (MO)2025/26Ordered and paid through BSN; contents not listed$250 to $350 returning players, $400 to $600 new players
The St. James (VA)2025/261-On-None Volleyball Apparel: 3 jerseys and 1 practice shirt required; club orders in bulk$0 to $245 depending on what the player still needs
Voltage Volleyball (FL)2026/27Jerseys, a quarter zip, practice shirts, a backpack, and shirts for parentsIncluded; listed as 10 percent of club fees
Olympus Volleyball Academy (Northern CA)2026/27Required Mizuno package with a 30 percent club discount: black, cardinal and white customized jerseys with numbers and last name, quarter zip jacket, pants, backpack, spandex, 3 pack of socks, kneepads. 2 practice shirts are in the dues$395 new players, $245 returning players (white jersey only), paid separately
Unified Volleyball (MI)2025/26Uniform package listed as included; contents not itemizedIncluded in dues

The pattern is clear. Three club volleyball jerseys is the common count, not two. A club plays two or three days in a row at a tournament, and the libero needs a contrasting color. Spandex is sometimes left to the player. Practice tees are in five of the seven packages, and a warmup layer and a backpack are in four, because they double as the club’s walking advertisement at a convention center.

How many jerseys do club volleyball players need?

Three, in most clubs, and the rule book explains why. USA Volleyball’s uniform requirements say regular players’ jerseys must be identical. The libero must wear a jersey that clearly contrasts with, and has a different dominant color from, teammates. So a club needs at least one dark jersey, one light jersey, and the libero wears the opposite of whatever the team has on. Clubs buy three jerseys per player so any athlete can be the libero on any given match, and so a Saturday jersey is not a Sunday problem. A custom volleyball uniform set from Hamco ships the libero contrast set in the same order at the same per set tier price. That detail is what keeps a 3 jersey plan affordable.

How much does club volleyball cost in 2026/27?

Here are the published dues from the same clubs, so you can see where the volleyball club uniforms sit in the budget. Dues are per player for the season and exclude player travel unless the club says otherwise.

The St. James (VA)Girls clubFees set per team; page lists what is and is not includedUniform $0 to $245; hotels and mileage extra

Add the membership on top. AAU youth athlete membership is $22 or $24 a year on aausports.org, and the membership year runs September 1 to August 31. USA Volleyball membership is sold through each of its 40 regions, and each region sets its own price, so check your region’s page. A parent focused summary at VolleyLens puts a typical all in season between about $1,500 and $7,500, which matches the published club pages above once travel is added. For a family, the uniform package is one of the smaller lines next to dues and travel. Only the membership fee is smaller.

What are the AAU volleyball uniform rules?

AAU tournaments use USA Volleyball rules, and the 2026 AAU uniform definitions sheet is a one page summary a club can hand to parents. The points that catch teams at check in:

  • Jerseys must be identical in color and design for all regular players, and shorts must all be the same color. USA Volleyball lets shorts differ in style and cut, but not color. The libero is the exception.
  • Numbers 1 to 99 only, in Arabic numerals, permanent, no duplicates. USA Volleyball adds that 0, 00 and any leading zero such as 07 are not legal.
  • Numbers centered on the front and back, at least 4 inches tall on the chest and 6 inches on the back; 6 and 8 inches are recommended. The stripe of the number must be at least 3/4 inch wide, not counting a border.
  • Numbers must contrast with the jersey, ignoring any border. Dark jersey, light number; light jersey, dark number. AAU prefers a solid color number.
  • Sponsor logos are allowed at AAU events as long as they do not block the number. USA Volleyball limits a manufacturer’s logo to 14.6 square cm, about 2 1/4 square inches, per the USAV uniform Q and A.
  • The libero must wear a jersey that clearly contrasts with, and has a different dominant color from, the rest of the team. Black with navy, red with maroon, and white with light yellow are named as combinations that fail.

For a plain language explanation of what the libero does and why the contrasting jersey exists, see our volleyball positions guide. For layouts that keep the number legal while the design stays bold, the volleyball jersey design guide has examples by jersey cut.

Do club volleyball backpacks and gear belong in the package?

Custom volleyball backpack in club colors next to court shoes, knee pads and a water bottle on convention center floor

Four of the seven clubs above list a backpack in the package. The reason is practical. A club player carries two or three jerseys, spandex, knee pads, court shoes, a warmup and a water bottle into a convention center. Then she sits on the floor between matches for eight hours. That is why club volleyball gear lists almost always end with a bag. A custom volleyball backpack from Hamco is $54.99 at 1 to 24 and $44.99 at 101 plus. It is the one piece parents keep using after the season ends. Cinch bags are the budget version at $19.99 to $12.99. Knee pads are $28.99 to $19.99 and socks $22.99 to $14.99 at the same tiers. If the club wants club volleyball shirts for parents and siblings, the short sleeve tee is $32.99 to $24.99. Voltage adds parent shirts to its package for exactly that reason.

Direct vendor or dealer brand: which is better for club volleyball jerseys?

QuestionDirect maker (Hamco)Dealer brand (Nike, Under Armour, Mizuno, BSN)
Where is the price? On the product page, 4 volume tiersFrom the rep or the club’s online store; AVC North’s package is $350, Olympus’s Mizuno package is $395 new or $245 returning
Minimum order?None; a 10 player 12U team orders aloneSet by the dealer; small teams often ride on the club’s bulk order
Libero jersey?Same tier price, same orderUsually a separate style or a separate order
Production time?3 weeks from mockup approval; rush 10 to 12 business daysVaries; St. James orders the whole club in bulk at season start to be safe
Brand logo on the jersey? No, the club’s logo onlyYes, and the USAV rule book caps a single manufacturer logo at 14.6 square cm
Who fixes a wrong number? The maker, redo or credit if reported within 7 days of deliveryThe dealer, under its own policy

Neither path is wrong. A club with a Nike or Mizuno sponsorship should use it. A club that pays list price through a dealer should at least price the same 12 pieces at a direct maker. The published numbers above show the full package landing in the same $350 to $600 band either way. The direct order gives the club the itemized price to trim from. Our volleyball uniform companies comparison covers the main vendors side by side.

How to build a club volleyball uniform package that parents will not complain about

  1. Start with the rule book. The legal floor is one numbered team jersey, a contrasting jersey for the libero, bottoms in one color, and numbers 1 to 99 at 4 and 6 inches. Most clubs buy three jerseys per player anyway, and three jerseys plus spandex is about $160 per player at Hamco’s 25 to 50 tier.
  2. Decide what the club pays for and what the player pays for, and put it on the fee page in writing. Every club above that lists the package in detail gets fewer tryout questions.
  3. Order the whole club in one run so every team gets the same tier price and the same dye lot. Order from one vendor so colors match across 12U to 18U.
  4. Keep player numbers the same on every jersey. USA Volleyball does not allow number changes once competition begins, and a player who is the libero on Saturday must keep the same number.
  5. Send the size chart to parents before the order, not after. Mixed sizes in one order cost nothing extra, but a reorder of one jersey costs the 1 to 24 price and a second shipping window.
  6. Order 4 weeks before the first tournament. Standard production is 3 weeks from the approved mockup, and the mockup comes back within 12 hours, but parents still need time to try pieces on.

For names on the back and a club name that fits a jersey, our volleyball team names list has 250 ideas. For why sublimation holds up through a 50 wash season better than screen print, the sublimated jerseys guide explains the process. And for keeping white libero jerseys white, the how to wash a jersey guide is worth forwarding to parents with the package.

Do club volleyball fees include uniforms?

It depends on the club. Virginia Elite, Voltage and Unified include the package in dues. American Volleyball Club North charges $350 separately, Olympus Volleyball Academy requires a $395 Mizuno package ($245 for returning players), and Rockwood Thunder has players pay BSN directly. Read the fee page before tryouts.

Final thoughts

Club volleyball uniforms are the cheapest big decision a club makes all year. The rule book sets the floor at one numbered jersey, a contrasting libero jersey, and matching bottoms. The package pages of real clubs show the ceiling at about $600 per player once warmups, bags and parent shirts are added. The club that wins on this line publishes the contents, orders everyone together, and buys from a vendor whose price is on the page before the first email.
