Custom Soccer Socks

Knee-high (over-the-calf) is the default for sanctioned soccer — FIFA Law 4 (the Players' Equipment Law) requires shin guards to be entirely covered by the stockings, so the sock has to extend above the top of the shin guard. For matches under FIFA Laws of the Game, NFHS, USSF, and most state association rules, knee-high is the only height that meets the requirement; referees check sock height during the pre-match inspection. Crew (mid-calf) works for recreational sessions, indoor pickup, and training days where shin guards aren't required. Ankle works for futsal and indoor 5-a-side where the playing surface doesn't require shin guard coverage. FIFA Law 4 also requires all field players on the same team to wear the same primary sock color, so order knee-high in the team color regardless of player position.

Tackle twill, embroidery, and screen printing aren't offered on this product, and the reason is mechanical not stylistic. Knit socks stretch 30-50% from relaxed to worn — embroidered logos distort badly through that stretch, screen-print ink doesn't bond reliably with knit fibers and cracks after a few wash cycles, and stitched-on tackle twill chafes inside the cleat and pulls the sock out of shape. Sublimation is the only decoration method engineered for stretchy knit footwear: the dye is heat-set directly into the polyester/elastane yarn before the sock is even constructed, so team colors and logos live inside the fiber itself. The dye stretches with the sock, doesn't crack, doesn't chafe, and survives the 50+ wash cycles per season that game socks see. Most clubs order 4-6 pairs per player for a full season. The math: each player needs one clean pair for every training session and match (typically 4-6 sessions per week), plus pairs in the wash rotation, plus one or two backups for lost or torn socks across a long season. A 3-pair-per-player order works for recreational programs running 1-2 sessions per week; a 6-pair order is the standard for travel clubs and academies running 4-5 sessions plus weekend matches. Order extras at the same time as the initial team buy — the per-pair price drops at higher volume tiers (1-24, 25-50, 51-100, and 101-500+) so adding 2 backups per player at the team-order stage is dramatically cheaper than running a second order mid-season. Many programs also pair the socks with matching compression shorts and training shorts in the same color file for a fully-coordinated kit.
