Better for over-cleat wear (the leg opening clears a standard football cleat), warmups on the field, and traditional sweatsuit silhouette. Most programs pick one cut for the whole roster for visual consistency, but mixed cuts are welcome within a single order at no extra cost (e.g., joggers for travel/staff, straight legs for field use).

For TRAVEL DAYS (bus rides, recruiting visits, post-game press): elastic alone is comfortable; loosen the drawstring or leave it tied at the front for the relaxed sweatsuit look. For PRACTICE AND WARMUPS: cinch the drawstring tight to keep the pants secure during walkthroughs, dynamic warmups, and stretching sequences — the pants stay put when players go into 3-point stance or lateral shuffle. The drawstring is the visible team-color cord on the front of the waistband.
