Knee pads are the finishing detail most programs overlook — and the one that separates a fully coordinated team look from a mismatched one. Players already wear black or off-the-shelf pads from sporting goods stores, and the result is a roster with the team colors stopping at the shorts and a row of generic black pads underneath. Custom knee pads in matching team colors complete the color story all the way to the floor, so when the team lines up to receive a serve or huddles between rallies the visual identity reads consistently from jersey to shorts to pad. The added benefit: every player gets the same exact pad with the same protection rating, the same fabric weight, and the same logo — no roster-wide variation across whatever individual pads players happened to buy. Knee pads have three construction realities that rule out the dimensional decoration methods. First, the foam-padded sleeve flexes constantly: every dive, every slide, every defensive dig stretches and compresses the fabric — a stitched-on tackle twill patch would pucker at the edges and pull at the stitch line within the first few weeks of use. Second, the surface area is limited: knee pads are small, and the sleeve curves around the leg with no large flat panel like a jersey back to hold a dimensional patch cleanly. Third, the inside of the sleeve touches skin: embroidery threads on a knee pad would sit against the player's leg where the sleeve rolls up during play, creating an irritation risk that doesn't exist on jersey chests or hoodie backs. Sublimation builds the team colorway and logo directly into the fabric (no surface relief at all); screen printing adds opaque single-color marks on top of the sleeve. Tackle twill and embroidery stay reserved for the static, flat-paneled garments where the construction supports them — jerseys, hoodies, and uniform tops.

Volleyball knee pads use slip-on pull-up sizing in three primary fits: Youth (fits roughly 12-22 inch thigh-to-calf circumference around the knee), Adult S/M (fits roughly 14-18 inch), and Adult M/L (fits roughly 16-20 inch). The stretch polyester-spandex sleeve gives meaningful elasticity within each size range so most programs only need to order two sizes (Youth + Adult M/L) to cover the full roster. The fit is intentionally snug — that's how the non-slip interior grip band at the top of the pad stays in position during dives and slides without rolling down the leg mid-rally. Players pull each pad on like a sleeve, position the foam panel directly over the kneecap, and the grip band locks the placement. If a player sits between two sizes, ordering the larger size keeps the pad comfortable through full-match wear; ordering the smaller size keeps the grip tighter for high-intensity defensive play. Pair the knee pads with matching poly-spandex compression shorts for the full lower-body coverage layer.
