Custom Volleyball Athletic Shorts

Athletic shorts (this product) are the loose-fit option with deep pockets and a drawstring waist — built for men's programs, co-ed leagues, youth teams, and any player who wants real coverage rather than a compression cut. Poly spandex shorts are the compression-cut alternative — short inseam, snug fit, the standard match-day cut for women's competitive volleyball at HS/college/club level where the compression cut is the traditional kit. Competition shorts sit between the two — a mid-length match-day cut for programs that want a more covered match silhouette than poly spandex without going to full loose-fit. Most programs run athletic shorts for men's/co-ed/youth and poly spandex for women's competitive rosters; competition shorts are the cleaner middle option when neither extreme fits the program identity.

Tackle twill is the raised stitched-on twill used for jersey back numbers — built for the flat back panel of a match jersey. Athletic shorts don't have a flat back panel that would justify tackle twill, and the lightweight ~150 GSM woven shorts fabric doesn't carry the stitched-on weight cleanly anyway. Sublimation handles team color and stripe work dye-fused into the polyester, embroidery handles club crests on the hem or waistband where dimensional stitching adds value, and screen printing handles opaque sponsor marks down the leg. Standard athletic-shorts inseam is 9-11 inches depending on size — youth sizes run shorter, adult sizes longer. This is the standard volleyball athletic-shorts cut that provides full range of motion through serves, dives, and warmup work without riding up. Custom inseam is available at no extra cost: order shorter for programs that prefer a higher cut closer to the compression range, or longer for programs that want more leg coverage during sideline and warmup wear. Just specify your preferred inseam length at the design stage and we'll route the pattern accordingly. Many clubs also use the inseam customization to match the cut their existing roster has already adapted to from prior seasons.
