The round-neck cut has no front-button placket, which makes the entire front panel a single uninterrupted canvas for sublimated graphics. On the placketed cuts (full-button and 2-button) the placket sits at the center-front and breaks any continuous design — a gradient, a panel-wide team mark, or a photo-realistic graphic has to either avoid the placket area or bridge across it with a visible seam-break. On the round-neck, the colorway and any graphic dye-fuses into the polyester knit and wraps from shoulder to shoulder, top to bottom, without a structural break. Programs that want design-forward jerseys — bold gradient fades, panel-wide team marks, photo-realistic backgrounds, asymmetric color blocks that cross the chest — default to the round-neck for exactly this reason. The placketed cuts are better when a program wants the more tailored fit and the on-field signal that a buttoned front carries, but for sublimation canvas the round-neck wins.

Five jersey cuts carry across our softball line, and each fits a different program preference.

• Round-neck — pullover with a smooth crew neckline; the cleanest sublimation canvas in the line and the entry-level price tier.
• Full-button — tailored female-athlete cut with a structural front placket; the college, elite travel-fastpitch, and varsity standard.
• 2-button — henley pullover with a 2-button collar opening; the rec, entry-travel, and slowpitch default.
• V-neck — pullover with a notched v-collar; common in fastpitch as a slightly more feminine silhouette than round-neck.
• Sleeveless — open armhole tank-cut for slowpitch or warm-weather rec play.
• Racerback uniform set — open-back cut paired with matching shorts as a complete uniform set, common in fastpitch for the open-shoulder range of motion.

All cuts ship from the same in-house production on the same ~180 GSM moisture-wicking polyester knit; fabric and decoration capability are identical, the choice is program preference, fit, and price tier.

The price difference is construction cost, not fabric or quality. Full-button and 2-button jerseys both have a sewn-in front placket: that placket carries reinforced backing tape, set buttons (4 or 2 buttons plus matching buttonholes on the opposing panel), and a clean-finished overlap on both edges. On a single team batch of 15-25 jerseys, the placket adds real per-piece sewing time and hardware cost. The round-neck has none of that: a smooth crew neckline trim, sewn in one continuous operation, with no buttons, no buttonhole pass, and no reinforced backing tape. That construction-cost difference is what shows up as a roughly $5 per-jersey price gap between the placketed cuts and the round-neck. The fabric weight (~180 GSM polyester knit), moisture-wicking finish, female-athlete cut, and decoration capability (sublimation, tackle twill, embroidery, screen printing) are all identical across the three cuts. USA Softball Rule 3.6 and NCAA Rule 4-1 uniform-consistency requirements are satisfied by all three cuts — back numbers ship at the 6-inch USA Softball minimum and every jersey in a single team order is dye-sublimated from the same in-house run, so colorway and trim are exact across the full batch with no batch-to-batch color drift. Pair with softball standard pants or standard knickers for the complete uniform.
