On a 4-way stretch knit that flexes every direction with every stride, the twill patch and the surrounding stitching crack and pucker after repeated stretch cycles — the twill stays rigid while the knit moves around it. (2) Under-pad chafe: embroidery thread sits raised above the fabric surface. Under shoulder-pad strap pressure or rib-pad compression, raised thread bunches and digs into skin within the first few shifts. Sublimation solves both: the color becomes part of the fiber itself with no surface bump, no chafe, no stretch failure mode. Screen printing works in low-pad-pressure zones (chest center, upper sleeve) where the ink layer doesn't catch under pad straps.
