The Custom Flag Football Athletic Shorts are the practice / warm-up / sideline / travel counterpart to our game-day Custom Flag Football Shorts. They run a relaxed athletic fit with side pockets — built for the off-field uses where pockets are useful and the flag belt is off. The game shorts are pocketless and cut close for flag-belt compliance during actual play. Many programs order both: the game shorts for league play and the athletic shorts for everything else.
Yes — side pockets are included, which is one of the main differences from the game shorts. They are useful for a phone, keys, or warm-up essentials during practice, sideline use, and team travel. The athletic shorts are NOT intended for on-field flag-football play (pockets can catch on a defender's hand and most rulebooks restrict them during play). For game-day, our Custom Flag Football Shorts are the pocketless, flag-belt-compatible option.
The athletic shorts run a 9-11 inch inseam (varies by size) — an above-the-knee athletic cut for full leg movement during agility work, sprints, and warm-ups. The exact measurements are in our size guide. If your team prefers a different inseam length, we can adjust during production at no extra cost.
