The backpack is water-resistant, not waterproof — that's an important distinction. The 600-denier polyester shell is treated with a durable water-repellent coating that handles light rain, accidental spills, gym sweat, and condensation from a water bottle without soaking through to your gear. It's NOT designed to keep contents dry through prolonged heavy downpour, full submersion, or a wash cycle. For travel through extreme weather, we recommend a separate dry-bag inside for the laptop. The water-resistant coating may also wear over multiple seasons in heavy daily use; we can re-treat or recommend an aftermarket spray to extend it.
